Citizens For Preservation Of Wainscott

Do the right thing the right way.

How do you strategically thread the needle when it comes to complicated issues surrounding alternative energy?

You remind people that there can be a right thing — alternative energy — and a wrong way to achieve it.

The issue: Orsted, the world’s largest offshore wind power company, is bidding to build a large project off the Long Island coast. They want to land the high-power electric landlines in the bucolic village of Wainscott even though it threatens an environmentally fragile beach, aquifer, farmland, and hundreds of residences.

The solution: We developed a fact-based, deeply researched information campaign to intelligently bring this issue into the court of public opinion instead of emotionally polarizing the issue.

The result: The village residents have overwhelmingly united against landing the lines in Wainscott and are successfully pressuring Orsted to consider better alternatives.
